Black Fly Jam is a ‘not for profit’ community events organization, presenting and promoting acoustic and alternative live music concerts in Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma district of Ontario. They are excited to have a new home within the Algoma Conservatory of Music, at The Loft!

A Black Fly Jam show is a special chance to enjoy professional and world class recording artists, within an intimate and convivial listening atmosphere. Audience comfort is of utmost importance; events are licensed, sometimes catered, and social time is provided at intermissions as well as before and after the shows. Local musicians are often featured for a short set before the main act.

The past roster of 30 years of performances is extensive, hosting many notable Canadian artists including: Blackie and The Rodeo Kings, Oscar Lopez, James Keelaghan, Lynn Miles, Rita Chiarelli, Harry Manx, Bill Bourne, Susie Vinnick, Das Macht Show, Colin Linden and Richard Bell (yes, of “The Band”!), Stephen Fearing, Fred Eaglesmith, Rodney Brown, Katherine Wheatley, Wendell Ferguson, Ian Tamblyn, Ray Bonneville, Willie P, Bennett, James Gordon, Rick Fines – and BFJ continues to invite the best touring musicians to Algoma.

Black Fly Jam gratefully accepts contributions on their GoFundMe page, to help sustain these events.
