Blair St. John is a teacher, performer, recording artist, producer, soldier, and lover of all that is music.
Raised in Prince Township, Ontario, Blair went to Korah Collegiate High School where he was involved in many bands on various instruments including the Mustang Sally Program. During that time he was also involved with 155 Air Cadets, where as a pipe band snare drummer played in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in 2009.
He then moved to the Algoma University Music Program in 2012, studied jazz under Frank Deresti, and percussion under Cliff Alloy and Rob Foster. During that time Blair began playing in various bands, touring Ontario, recording/producing (credited on over a dozen releases), as well as teaching solo/group classes.
Blair joined the 49th Field Artillery Regiment with the Canadian Armed Forces in 2015 as a Pipe & Drum Musician. He has since rose to the rank of Master Corporal, taking on positions including Drum Sergeant and Pipe Major.
Blair is currently continuing his lifelong exploration of musical possibilities; teaching solo/group classes on drum/kit, percussion, guitar, bass, and ukulele. He remains active through regular recording sessions with various studios, and is a part of a large number of bands across the Algoma District.
