Madeline Hubbard - voice, acting

Madeline (Maddy) Hubbard has been studying voice since the age of 10. She was primarily trained through church choirs and private lessons until her vocal training gradually shifted toward classical music. She attended Queen’s University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a concentration in voice. During her time there, she served as the stage director of Queen’s Student Opera for two years, directing three full productions.

She spent two summers apprentice stage managing at Central City Opera in Colorado — a job you’ll still sometimes find her doing. 

She later attended the University of Toronto Opera Division as a student stage director, where she worked as both assistant director and stage director for two years. While there, she taught voice at Balletomane in Oakville and realized how much she loved teaching. 

Following her studies, she directed productions for Opera Nuova, Opera York, Brampton Lyric Opera, and other organizations. She loves stage directing, performing and teaching voice and performance.

She has continued to teach private voice and vocal coach in a variety of cities: Prince Edward County, Calgary and Edmonton.  She has experience guiding students through Royal Conservatory Exams and adjudicated events.  While in Calgary she served on the board for the National Association of Teachers of Singing for Southern Alberta.  She finds great joy and fulfilment in collaborating with her colleagues.
