Pre-concert introduction by Dr. Carolyn Hart, whose former student, Will Liverman, is in the lead role of this METROPOLITAN OPERA PRODUCTION.

Join us for a special screening of the Grammy-winning DVD production of the Metropolitan Opera, in celebration of Black History Month. The bar will be open for cocktail hour and during intermission. Terence Blanchard’s groundbreaking new opera, which made history as the first opera by a Black composer to be presented at the Met, is now available on DVD. Recorded as part of the company’s Live in HD series, this powerful performance stars baritone Will Liverman and sopranos Latonia Moore and Angel Blue, with Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin conducting a vivid staging co-directed by James Robinson and Camille A. Brown.
