Kim Churchill comes from the coastal town of Merimbula, recognized early by his country as a major talent. He was awarded Australia’s National Youth Folk Artist of the Year and nominated for the National Live Music Awards Roots Act of the Year. Born in 1990, he began playing guitar at the early age of four and went on to train in classical guitar for ten years. He started singing and playing in front of crowds very early, writing songs while experimenting various tunes or while busking in various venues. As an original singer songwriter who is inspired by many genres, he now accompanies his guitar with blues harp (harmonica), stomp box, drums, and percussion instruments. He also plays lapsteel and tambourine.

An avid fan of surfing, he incorporated the sport in many of his songs and music videos. Churchill tours extensively around the world and has become a favourite during music festivals and has particular following in Canada where he has played most of our major festivals.

Kim’s laidback folk style continues to strike a chord across the globe, both in concert tours and in demand at major festivals in many countries. His website is minimalist when it comes to describing his talent, best to just achieve maximum value by listening and watching for yourself …. Check it out here!

He has released seven albums and is signed to Montreal-based Canadian label Indica Records. A true troubadour, Kim is ready for a wave of adventures in 2024 with more music and shows on the horizon.
