The West End Theatre Project Cabaret Series is proud to present Times Like This, an intimate evening of music and storytelling featuring performer Rita Dottor, accompanied by David Dellaire.
Taking audiences on a journey from the “NYC audition vault” to dream roles yet to be realized, Times Like This showcases a curated selection of songs from beloved contemporary musicals. The program will include music from Sunday in the Park with George, Amélie, Waitress, and [title of show], among others—offering a heartfelt exploration of ambition, artistry, and the moments that define a performer’s path.
With her expressive vocal style and engaging stage presence, Rita Dottor invites audiences into a personal and reflective cabaret experience, brought to life through the accompaniment of David Dellaire and a guest performer as well.
The performance will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at The Loft, with limited seating to preserve the intimate cabaret atmosphere.
About Rita Dottor:
Rita Dottor is an actor, composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist. Select theatre credits include Bright Star (Mirvish), Natasha, Pierre and The Great Comet of 1812 (Mirvish and Crow’s Theatre/The Musical Stage Company), for which she received a Dora Award, Oliver! (Cameron Mackintosh’s U.S. First National Tour), Man of La Mancha (Magnus Theatre), and The Secret Garden (Capital Repertory Theatre, NY).
Her television credits include Vinyl, The Good Wife, Nurse Jackie, Sex and the City (films 1 & 2), Rescue Me, Law & Order: SVU, Cashmere Mafia, and White Collar.
Her opera credits include Die Zauberflöte, Aida, Carmen, and Tosca (Sarasota Opera), as well as Un Ballo in Maschera(Greensboro Opera).
Rita holds a Master of Music in Opera from the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a Bachelor of Music in Violin and Voice from Southeastern Louisiana University. She also attended the conservatory program at the Atlantic Acting School in New York City.
As a composer and musician, she has released two albums and performed at notable New York City venues including Joe’s Pub, Feinstein’s/54 Below, and Rockwood Music Hall. She extends much love and gratitude to her family.
About David Dellaire:
Born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, David has a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and an Operatic Diploma in Stage Direction, both from the University of Toronto. David teaches voice at Algoma University and is the Director of 'The Voice Studio'. David performed, chorally conducted, stage directed, musically directing, and choreographed for many professional companies in London England for almost 20 years before moving back to Sault Ste. Marie in 2024. David performed in the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, conducted his own choir at the 2015 Rugby World Cup, conducted the Fourth Choir at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre in 2019, sang with Madonna at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv in 2019, and sang on the BBC televised broadcasts of the Holocaust Memorial Day in 2020 and the Festival of Remembrance in 2022.
