The beloved comic written by Charles Shultz comes to life in Clark Gesner’s classic musical, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. The whole gang is here: the very bossy Lucy is hopelessly in love with the Beethoven loving piano prodigy Schroeder who doesn’t even give her the time of day. Then there is the perfectionist Sally with all of her philosophies on life. While philosophizing, she mocks her younger brother Linus, who is by far the brightest of the troupe, but who adores his cozy sanctuary of his baby blanket. Snoopy is larger than life with his Red Baron monologue and his love of food! Then there is the beloved Charlie Brown, whom Lucy refers to as a “blockhead”. He is constantly ridiculed by most of the gang, but in the end, the characters know that he is a “Good Man” after all and appreciates their friendship with him.

Short vignettes span the months from Valentine’s Day to Beethoven Day Whether you’re keen to fly with the Red Baron, moon over the Moonlight Sonata, or just do your best to find “Happiness,” You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown is a crowd-pleasing classic.

Students from the Algoma Conservatory’s choir “Broadway Bound” have been cast in the lead roles as well as other Peanut characters. Also, students from “The Sound of Magic” choirs will help out in the chorus to round out this delightful musical. Everyone is very excited to be able to present the first Algoma Conservatory Musical to the public. Get your tickets early as this show is sure to sell out.
