This excellent session explores the basics of pitch, rhythm and note reading, as well as introducing a variety of instruments, and is an excellent preparation for the Music Readiness Program.

Music Readiness for First Graders
This highly successful course, now in its 19th year, is for children entering grade 1 (or having completed the music time program). Some of the finest musicians in Sault Ste Marie began in Music Readiness. It prepares students for the study of an instrument or voice through developing basic note reading and a daily practice routine. The year is divided between piano, voice, recorder, and handbells, with short daily practice assignments. Students perform in several concerts including a performance on recorder with our youth orchestra.
Children must be MusicTime graduates or turning 6 by Dec. 31, 2021.
